MEDIA COVERAGE OF ARYAN'S KHAN CASE
Recently one news came up on our televisions, mobile phones, laptops and newspapers which attracted all the audience in a very short period the news of ‘Aryan Khan’ the son of famous Shahrukh Khan getting arrested by NCB for taking up drugs after the news was up on media there was hardly any other news of the world each time we switched on our news channel there was a different theory of the same case but do you think this news getting popularity was worth? For me and in my opinion, it was a big ‘no’.
Media is the biggest source from where we get informed and educated about the incidents happening around the globe. But sometimes media only Hype about anyone's news particularly so much that the audience forgets about matters that may be more important. The same happened with Aryan Khan's drug case too. The news got so much hyped that everywhere we can see the same news even on the Meme pages on social media. There were many other people also in that Cruise as the news mentioned but only Aryan Khan's name came to the spotlight. So, we can say that it was only because of Shahrukh Khan, can we? In my view, Yes. From Aryan Khan arriving in the NCB office to his complete inquiry to the clicking pictures with officers, the story got so much publicity that much important news got covered.
I read in a piece of news somewhere that about 300 where is arrested in last 10 months but media give more attention to the known person that is maybe the person is and celebrity or someone from politics. Sameer Wankhede of NCB stated that a few days back drugs worth 5 crores were recovered and no media house wrote on that’. This clearly shows that on one hand media educate people and on the other hand it also helps particular news for getting attention from the audience.
