Story 2 :
After Congress released its Karnataka polls manifesto, in which it promised to impose
a complete ban on Bajrang Dal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah called it
"appeasement politics". "They didn't do anything when it came to Ram Mandir. Now
they've a problem with Bajrang Bali too," Shah said, adding the people of Karnataka
will decide if Congress is right.

Story 3 :
The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed Delhi Police's plea against bail given to
Pinjra Tod activists Devangana Kalita and Natasha Narwal, and Jamia Millia Islamia
student Asif Iqbal Tanha in connection with 2020 Delhi riots. "For two years, the
accused are out on bail. We see no purpose in keeping the matter alive," the court
said.

Story 4 :
A 38-year-old man suspected of killing five of his neighbours in US' Texas has been
arrested after a four-day manhunt, authorities said. Francisco Oropesa was "caught
hiding in a closet underneath some laundry" during a search operation, involving over
250 officers. Oropesa reportedly killed his neighbours following an argument about
him practice-shooting with an AR-15 style rifle in his yard.

Story 5 :
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will visit London on May 5 to attend the coronation
ceremony of King Charles III on behalf of the Indian government. Ministry of External
Affairs said India and the UK have a historic relationship and share values of
democracy, rule of law and many complementarities and convergences. Dhankhar will be on a two-day visit to London.

Story 6 :
A joint statement by 17 digital and human rights organisations urged the Centre to
withdraw the recent amendment to the Information Technology (IT) Rules. The
statement called for a review of the overbroad provisions that confer excessive
powers on the government, leading to unchecked censorship. It also urged the
government to "meaningfully commit to protecting media freedoms".
